    How do you know which macronutrient split will make you feel your best and get you the best results?

    Regarding weight loss, your carb & fat distribution DOESN’T Matter. A calorie deficit does.

    Studies conclude:

    When calories and protein are equated, a higher carb versus higher fat diet makes no difference in Weight Loss.

    What makes a difference is compliance, and when given a nutrition program that leaves you feeling great compliance is no issue!

    Carbs and Fats Influence How You FEEL

    Ever notice you feel better when you eat more or less of these? Some people feel drained and bogged down if too many carbs are a part of their diet. Others feel energized! You need to listen to your body. Most of my clients have more than 30 lbs to lose and need to build muscle mass.

    Therefore in many of their cases, this leaves them insulin resistant and pre diabetic. A lower carb approach is usually best for their current physiological state and leaves them feeling better!
    In other cases, people who are active and have more lean muscle mass tend to do well and feel better on more carbs, Me included!

    The important takeaway is:

    Eat what makes YOUR body FEEL Best.
    A 500 calorie deficit with 115g of Protein, 50g of fat and 100g of carbs (higher carb)
    Vs. A 500 calorie deficit with 115g of Protein, 70g of fat and 50g of carbs (higher fat)

    IS STILL A 500 CALORIE DEFICIT.

But all of those shots you take / drinks in between every meal are FULL of empty calories that will PACK the weight back on, leave you feeling bloated with low energy, and give a nasty hangover that will keep you from enjoying the next days activities. πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ And then we won’t be feeling very sexy in our bikini will we?
    I like to limit my drinks to either 1-2 cocktails at night, or 1 during the day and 1 at night with LOTS of water in between.

Because having abs comes from having a balanced amount of lean muscle mass and body fat on the body, and that balance comes from feeding your body the right foods to make that composition happen. Think Protein & veggies at every meal, plus 2-3 servings of healthy carbs/fats a day! This can be from sources such as avocados, nut butters, sweet potatoes, or oatmeal! Add some of those to your protein & veggies and watch your waistline shrink!

    2. Resistance Training! πŸ’ͺ🌺
    Okay so here’s the deal, do you want to be lighter??? Or TIGHTER. πŸ’― Lifting weights gets you BOTH. Those beautifully sculpted abs, arms, and tight lifted booty aren’t made on the treadmill. If you want your abs to be tight you need to do FULL BODY resistance training workouts. This is what tightens the skin, gets rid of cellulite, and adds that beautiful lean muscle πŸ’•πŸ’•

    3. Decrease your Body Fat %.
    Revealing your abs all comes down to this point. Whether your toned core is showing or not all has to do with your body composition. Too much fat lying on top of your abs will hide the gorgeous muscles indefinitely.     At the end of the day, while being productive and getting all of the things β€œdone” can make us feel worthy deep down and like we are doers, if it leaves us feeling more depleted and lethargic than excited for our lives and what we’ve achieved then we have to ask ourselvews β€œIs this really all there is? Is this really a sustainable way to be? Is this how I want to feel/live?” The answer is absolutely not, this is just a pattern that has developed over time and there IS a better WAY!

    Gratitude in the morning begins to put you into a positive state of mind, and increases your happiness in the moment by reminding you that while there are still things you are working towards in your life, there are things you can immediately be happy for now.

    ⏺ Get Excited – Vision Board Your Goals In Life! 🌺
    Having a visual reminder that we can wake up to everyday helps us to see the bigger picture/ and get EXCITED for our future and what we are working towards! What do you want in life?! Love, friendship, career, body goals, travel, etc. Put it here!

    ⏺ Center and Calm the Body – Yoga & Meditation πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ
    There is so much happening so fast all around us. Yoga and meditation helps us to slow down and practice controlling our mind. Every wondered if you could train your mind to think more positively about situations and let go of negative thought patterns quicker? This is one way to do it!

    ⏺ Recover – Adequate Sleep 😴
    The evening time is when our body heals and rests. We need 7-9 hours a night, completely uninterrupted. If you want to feel energized and rejuvenated tomorrow, bright eyed and bushy tailed, motivated and resilient – it starts with tonight!

    ⏺ Self Love – Pamper Yourself and Take Care of Your Body
    Journaling, a hot bath, deep tissue massage, reading, face masks, or music to relax are all fantastic ways to show your inner self that you matter, and that you care. Taking the extra 5 minutes to go through your skincare routine, or taking the hour to relax in a hot bubble bath with some relaxing music is a perfect way to go the extra mile, and show yourself that you care. πŸŒ™πŸ›πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ

    All of these habits practice caring for your well being and readjusting your mindset. Onto the present, onto being excited for your future, onto being grateful and happy for what you have. Whenever stressed, worried, or just overwhelmed, take a second to turn to some of these to give your body/mind a break!
    One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was, when you’re worried about something, shift your mindset to β€œWhat if it all works out?” And see how much better you feel! This is called reframing, and can be used in any situation you could ever think of. If you are constantly looking at a certain situation in a negative light, ask yourself β€œWhat are 5 ways I could look at this situation through a more positive lens?”
    Sometimes we can lose sight of what’s important or even worth our time stressing about. Give yourself a minute to get some perspective!
    You only live once, use the mind space and imagination you have, visualizing and building a beautiful life, and enjoying/ being grateful for the one that you have.
